All That Is White

With the theme of this week’s #FriFotos being “white,” I had quite a bit to choose from — but I didn’t want to include snow, or daisies, or any more beautiful shots of White Sands National Monument in New Mexico (I use those far too often).  A different kind of white was what I wanted to take center stage this week.

Here are my favorite pics of non-traditional white around the world:

The Moorish Albayzin neighborhood of Granada, Spain.

And whitewashed Granada as a whole, as seen from the Allhambra.

Sailboats in the tranquil harbor in Reykjavik, Iceland.

And, much higher in the air, climbing through the Alps in Innsbruck, Austria.  Still can’t believe we climbed down from that high.  My knees hurt for days.

Don’t let the white touch the ground!  In Salem, Massachusetts.  That’s me on the bottom right.

My favorite black and white pic, ever — the chef at Casa Artusi in Forlimpopoli, Emilia-Romagna, Italy.

My first ever white party, in Kuta, Indonesia!  God, I love the Balinese.  These girls are wonderful.

And finally, a close-up of the Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy.
