Beautiful New England — and Contest Winner!

3

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve lived in New England just about my entire life.  I grew up in Massachusetts, went to college in Connecticut, spent much of my summers in New Hampshire, and now live in Boston (for the next week, anyway!).  While I won’t live here forever, it’s been nice for the past 26 years.

As a result, I know this area of the world quite well!  A few of my favorite places:

White Lake State Park in Tamworth, New Hampshire

The Maine Diner in Wells, Maine, which was recently featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network.

I received a copy of Lonely Planet’s New England Trips at the Robert Verdi “Tweet This!” Party I attended last month.  I decided to pass on the wisdom of New England to my readers.

To become eligible for the book giveaway, respondents had to comment on the post and become a fan of Adventurous Kate on Facebook.  Several readers entered and we now have a winner…

Cathy Sweeney of Traveling with Sweeney!  Congrats, Cathy; I’ll be in touch about sending you the book.

Thanks to all that entered, and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekends!

  1. Thanks, Kate! This is great. I look forward to getting the book and planning a New England trip!

  2. I’d love to visit New England sometime in the future. So many places to visit. When is it the best time to travel there. I’ve heard Autumn, is this correct?

    • Autumn is great. Check out weather guides for when the leaves turn — they turn earlier in Vermont and New Hampshire than in Massachusetts, and each year varies! Boston is usually great in early October.
