Travel Blogs: Best of the Week (May 30-June 5, 2010)
It was another great week for travel blogging. Here are some of the best posts of the last week:
Five Fun Activities to Do While Waiting For Your Next Trip: this was a guest post on A Pair of Panties and Boxers by Erica of Over Yonderlust. Erica’s suggestions of cheap-to-free activities will keep your spirits up when you’re stuck at home pinching pennies (as I am now). Her suggestion of Netflix, in particular, is a lifesaver! Want to have something to do on nights in? Start watching episodic TV on Netflix Watch Instantly. I highly, highly, highly recommend Friday Night Lights.
City Guide: 24 Hours in Sydney, Australia: Sofia from As We Travel published this great day guide to the reportedly fantastic city of Sydney. I love this itinerary because it includes all of the things I like to experience in a new city: views, architecture, beach (if there is one) and beer! (I just feel bad for the poor soul who only has 24 hours to spend in Sydney!)
Melbourne Street Art: Can you tell I really, really love graffiti from around the world? (See more from Travels of Adam and Brooke vs. the World). This week’s installment comes from Amar at Gap Year Escape. Just take a look. Even the plastic trash cans are graffitied beautifully.
The Greek Islands: In his latest Greece post, Nomadic Matt gives an overview of four of his favorite Greek islands. I always knew that Ios was a party island, but I never knew that it was one of the cheapest! I think I have a new incentive to get over to Ios before the summer ends…
Oh, God, Traveling with an Infant: Christine from Almost Fearless is about to set out on yet another jaunt…her first with her baby boy. She sets out the plan (aka The Plan) for traveling with an infant — and eloquently and frankly expresses her worries. There are a lot of great lines in this piece; check it out!
And that’s the week! Happy #traveltuesday. Got any recommendations? Leave them in the comments!
