As always, you can subscribe to my Travel Blogs Bundle on Google Reader.

Here are some of my favorite travel blog posts from the past week:

Southeast Asia: A Beginner’s Guide: What a fabulous post from Audrey and Daniel at Uncornered Market.  I loved it so much, I sent it to both my parents!  They explain why Southeast Asia is a great destination for first-time backpackers and they highlight some of their favorite places.  On that note, Amar from Gap Year Escape shared his favorite experiences in Look Back On Southeast Asia.

How To Be Lost Without Looking Lost: This guest post on Go Backpacking by Jasmine of Jasmine Wanders is especially useful — there will be a time when you will be lost while traveling, and if you’re uneasy about the environment, the last thing you want to do is look lost!

Brasil: Day 4 (Part 2): As those of you who know her already know, Andi from My Beautiful Adventures is engaged!  Here’s the story of the night she got engaged in Buzios…and check out her INCREDIBLE and unique engagement ring!

Do Good Thursday: Four Free Volunteer Programs in Peru: Don’t think you have to spend thousands of dollars in order to volunteer abroad.  Monica from A Pair of Panties and Boxers shares four programs eager for volunteers, where you only have to pay for your own food and lodging.  In particular, there are lots of opportunities for teaching and working with kids.

Work to Live or Live to Work? Christine from C’est Christine is an American currently living in Nice, France, and shared her thoughts on the U.S.’s out-of-control workaholism.  No wonder so few Americans travel.  As someone currently working approximately 16-hour workdays between a full-time job an hour away, freelance work, and this site, I could relate.  One of these days, I’m going to break down.

Also, this week, Anil from foXnoMad announced the Live The Backpacker Life (Most Anywhere In the World) contest.  First prize: free airfare up to $1000 and six nights of free hostel accommodation!  While my circumstances make me ineligible for the contest (CUE A HUGE WINK), I’d love to see one of my subscribers win!

Have a great week, everyone!
